Robotics Symposia 2025 (Robosym 2025)

On March 18 and 19, Masaki Kitagawa attended the Robotics Symposia 2025 (Robosym 2025) conference in Dogo Spa, Ehime Prefecture.

He delivered an oral presentation on his research “Cooperative Transportation of Large Objects by a Swarm of Omni-Directional Mobile Robots Using 3D LiDAR Point Clouds and Adaptive Formation Control”. His study focuses on cooperative, non-fixed support transport using omni-directional autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) equipped with 3D LiDAR and force sensors. To evaluate the system’s effectiveness and adaptability, he conducted an experiment where three robots transported a large pallet and a curved door panel along a 30-meter hallway outside the lab. This technology holds promise for applications in factory automation.

After conference, we enjoyed delicious local seafood.
